A PHYSICIAN WHO KNOWS KIDS
Why Parents Trust Dr. Clay With Their Children
When your child is sick, the last thing you want is a provider who's never met them reading from a screen. Dr. Lisa Clay is a board-certified family physician with nearly two decades of clinical experience — including extensive pediatric care. She's treated thousands of children for everything from their first ear infection to a broken arm on the soccer field.
At Monarch Medicine, Dr. Clay evaluates every child personally. She takes time to explain what's happening in language parents understand, involves kids in their own care when appropriate, and never rushes a visit because a corporate timer says she should. If your child needs an X-ray, it's done on-site with same-day results. If they need a rapid strep or flu test, results come back in minutes — not days.
"Parents know when something isn't right with their child. My job is to listen to that instinct, do a thorough exam, and give you a clear answer — not rush you out the door with a generic diagnosis. Every child who walks into Monarch Medicine gets the same care I'd give my own kids." — Dr. Lisa Clay, MD, FAAFP

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Pediatric Urgent Care FAQ
What ages do you see?
We see children of all ages — from newborns through teenagers. Dr. Clay is a board-certified family physician with extensive pediatric experience. There are no age restrictions at Monarch Medicine.
Do I need an appointment for my child?
No. Walk in during business hours (Mon–Fri 8am–6pm, Sat–Sun 9am–12pm). You can also use MyChart to check in online and hold your spot to reduce wait time.
Can you write a note for school or daycare?
Yes. We provide school clearance letters, daycare return-to-care notes, and sports clearance documentation same-day. If your child needs documentation to return after an illness or injury, we handle it during the visit.
Do you have X-ray for kids?
Yes. We have on-site digital X-ray with same-day results. If your child falls at the playground or gets hurt at practice, Dr. Clay can image, diagnose, and treat in a single visit — no separate imaging appointment needed.
Can you do stitches on children?
Yes. Dr. Clay performs laceration repair on children using sutures, staples, or wound glue depending on the wound. We use age-appropriate techniques to keep your child as comfortable as possible during the procedure.
My child keeps getting ear infections. Can you help?
Yes. Recurring ear infections are one of the most common pediatric concerns we see. Dr. Clay evaluates the pattern, determines whether the infections are bacterial or viral, and discusses whether referral to an ENT specialist is appropriate. For the current infection, we diagnose and treat same-day. See our ear infection treatment page for more information.
How is this different from MinuteClinic for kids?
MinuteClinic has age restrictions (typically 18 months and older), no X-ray, no stitches, and uses nurse practitioners following standardized protocols. Monarch Medicine has no age restrictions, on-site X-ray, full procedure capability, and every child is seen by Dr. Clay — a board-certified physician with nearly 20 years of experience. See our full MinuteClinic comparison.
Do you accept Medicaid for kids?
We are not in network with Medicaid or Humana. Self-pay rates are available and start at $105.70 with our 30% discount applied automatically. See our pricing page for the full fee schedule.
