WHAT NAD+ IS

A Physician-Reviewed Wellness Injection

NAD+ stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. It is a coenzyme found in all living cells with documented roles in cellular energy production, DNA repair, and metabolic function. NAD+ levels naturally decline with age.

A NAD+ injection at Monarch is a single intramuscular (IM) injection administered in your arm or hip. It takes about 15 minutes from check-in to leaving the office. NAD+ is offered as a cash-pay wellness service. It is not a medical treatment for any condition, and we do not claim it produces specific clinical outcomes.

HONEST DISCLOSURE

What NAD+ Is Not

NAD+ is one of the most heavily marketed wellness injections in the country. We would rather tell you what it is not, so you can decide whether it fits what you are looking for.

Not FDA-approved as a product. NAD+ injections are not FDA-approved drugs or therapies. NAD+ has documented physiologic roles in the body, but the injection has not been reviewed by FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality as a wellness product.

Not an anti-aging or longevity treatment. Marketing language about NAD+ “reversing aging,” “cellular renewal,” or “extending lifespan” goes beyond what the evidence supports. We do not make those claims. NAD+ levels do decline with age, but a single injection does not reverse that decline in any clinically meaningful way.

Not a guaranteed energy or cognitive boost. Some patients describe feeling more energetic or mentally clear after a NAD+ injection. Others do not notice a difference. We cannot promise specific outcomes around energy, focus, sleep, or recovery.

Not addiction or substance use treatment. Monarch does not offer NAD+ for withdrawal, substance use disorder, or addiction recovery. Those concerns need evidence-based medical care from a primary care physician, addiction medicine specialist, or structured treatment program.

Not for chronic conditions or ongoing management. Chronic fatigue, autoimmune conditions, persistent low energy, or unexplained symptoms belong with your primary care doctor or a specialist — not a wellness injection.

Not IV NAD+ therapy. Monarch offers a single intramuscular injection. We do not run IV NAD+ infusions, multi-day NAD+ programs, or high-dose NAD+ protocols.

Not insurance-covered. NAD+ is a cash-pay wellness service. HSA and FSA cards may not be eligible because NAD+ is not medically necessary — check with your benefits administrator.

If you came here looking for treatment of a specific condition or looking for IV NAD+ therapy, call us at (317) 804-4203 first. We will help you decide whether Monarch is the right place or whether another option fits better.

FROM DR. CLAY

Why We Offer NAD+

NAD+ is one of the most over-marketed wellness products of the last few years. So I want to be careful about why it is on our menu.

NAD+ is a real coenzyme with real physiologic functions. We make a single IM injection available because some patients want a physician-supervised NAD+ wellness injection in a physician-led urgent care setting. We do not market it as anti-aging, do not promise more energy, and do not position it as a treatment for anything specific.

A Monarch physician reviews your health history, medications, allergies, and any conditions before the injection. If NAD+ is not appropriate for you, we will tell you that. If you are dealing with a real medical concern, we will route you to urgent care, your primary doctor, or the right specialist.

THE SCIENCE — HONESTLY

What NAD+ Does in the Body

NAD+ has documented roles in cellular function. We describe each role honestly. We do not claim a single IM injection produces measurable clinical outcomes from those mechanisms.

Cellular Energy Production

Documented role

NAD+ is essential to the redox reactions that convert nutrients into ATP — the energy currency of cells. It cycles between NAD+ and NADH forms during this process. Without NAD+, cells cannot produce energy efficiently.

DNA Repair Enzyme Function

Documented role

NAD+ is required by enzymes called sirtuins and PARPs that participate in DNA repair and stress response. These enzymes use NAD+ as a substrate.

Age-Related Decline

Documented observation

NAD+ levels decline with age in many tissues. This is well-documented in research literature. Whether supplementing NAD+ via injection meaningfully reverses that decline in healthy adults is an open question.

Educational only. Mechanism evidence (NAD+ has these roles in cells) is not the same as outcome evidence (a single IM injection produces specific clinical results). The clinical evidence for IM NAD+ supplementation in healthy adults is limited. A Monarch physician will discuss what is reasonable to expect and what is not.

SUITABILITY

Who NAD+ May Be Appropriate For

NAD+ injections are offered to generally healthy adults seeking a physician-supervised wellness injection in an urgent care medical office. A Monarch physician reviews your specific situation before treatment. If NAD+ is not appropriate, we will tell you and recommend the right next step.

NAD+ May Fit If You

  • ✓ Are a generally healthy adult curious about NAD+ as a wellness option
  • ✓ Want a physician-supervised wellness injection in an urgent care medical office
  • ✓ Prefer a single visit rather than an ongoing program
  • ✓ Want clear in-office pricing before treatment
  • ✓ Are looking for an IM injection — not IV, not infusion
  • ✓ Have realistic expectations about wellness injections

NAD+ May Not Be Right If

  • ⚠ You are actively sick — urgent care evaluation comes first
  • ⚠ You are pregnant or nursing — consult your OB first
  • ⚠ You have severe kidney or liver disease
  • ⚠ You have a known allergy to any NAD+ component
  • ⚠ You are seeking treatment for substance use disorder — this needs evidence-based addiction care, not a wellness injection
  • ⚠ You are seeking treatment for chronic fatigue or unexplained symptoms — this needs a workup, not a wellness injection
  • ⚠ You are looking for an FDA-approved therapy — NAD+ is not
  • ⚠ You are looking for IV NAD+ infusion — we do not offer that

A Monarch physician confirms suitability before treatment. We do not bill insurance for NAD+. If something we discuss during intake suggests you need clinical evaluation rather than a wellness injection, we will recommend that instead.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

NAD+ FAQ

Is NAD+ FDA-approved?

No. NAD+ injection as offered here is not an FDA-approved drug or therapy. NAD+ has documented physiologic roles in the body, but the injection has not been reviewed by FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality as a wellness product. We do not claim NAD+ treats, prevents, or cures any condition.

Is this an IV NAD+ infusion?

No. Monarch offers a single intramuscular (IM) injection — an injection in your arm or hip. We do not run IV NAD+ infusions, multi-day NAD+ programs, or high-dose protocols. If you are looking for IV NAD+ therapy, you will need a different clinic.

Will NAD+ make me feel younger or more energetic?

We cannot promise that. Some patients describe feeling more energetic or mentally clear after a NAD+ injection. Other patients do not notice a difference. The clinical evidence for measurable energy or anti-aging outcomes from a single IM NAD+ injection in healthy adults is limited. If you are looking for a guaranteed result, NAD+ is not the right service.

Is NAD+ an anti-aging treatment?

No. We do not market NAD+ as anti-aging or longevity therapy. NAD+ levels decline with age, but a single injection does not reverse aging in any clinically meaningful way. Marketing claims to that effect go beyond what the evidence supports.

How often can I get NAD+?

NAD+ is intended for occasional use. There is no recommended ongoing schedule because we do not have evidence that frequent use produces additive benefit. A Monarch physician can discuss your specific situation if you are considering more than one session.

Are there side effects?

Possible side effects include injection site soreness, brief flushing, mild nausea, headache, or muscle tension immediately after the injection. Severe reactions are uncommon. A Monarch physician reviews allergies and medical history before treatment. If you have a history of allergic reactions to vitamins, B-complex compounds, or preservatives, tell us before treatment.

Is NAD+ covered by insurance?

No. NAD+ is a cash-pay wellness service and not billed to insurance. HSA and FSA cards may not be eligible because NAD+ is not medically necessary — check with your benefits administrator before submitting.

Can my child or teenager get NAD+?

No. NAD+ is offered to adults only. Children and teenagers with health concerns belong with their pediatrician.

What is the difference between NAD+ and the Vital Immunity Boost (VIB)?

Both are physician-supervised IM wellness injections at $75 cash-pay. VIB contains glutathione, vitamin C, and zinc. NAD+ contains nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. Different ingredients, different mechanisms. Neither is FDA-approved as a product, and we do not claim either produces specific clinical outcomes.
