Monarch Medicine offers STD and STI testing based on your symptoms, exposure history, and individual needs. A Monarch physician recommends which tests are appropriate:

Who Should Get Tested for STDs?
The CDC recommends STD screening for many groups even without symptoms, because most STDs can be present without any noticeable signs. Visit Monarch Medicine if:

STD Testing FAQ
Is STD testing at Monarch Medicine confidential?
Your consultation takes place in a private exam room, and your medical information is protected under applicable privacy laws. Certain disclosures are permitted or required by law, including public health reporting. If you have concerns about MyChart access, insurance statements, or how results will be communicated, tell us before testing.
Do I need to have symptoms to get tested?
No. Many STIs can occur without symptoms. Which tests you need and how often depend on your age, sexual history, exposures, pregnancy status, and other factors. A Monarch physician helps you choose appropriate testing.
How long do STD test results take?
We collect samples during your visit and send them to LabCorp. Results return after laboratory processing, and timing varies by test. Same-day testing refers to your evaluation and sample collection, not guaranteed same-day results. Ask during your visit about the expected turnaround for your tests.
Will STD testing show up on my insurance?
If you use insurance, the visit and laboratory charges may appear on insurance statements or an explanation of benefits. Self-pay is available, but it does not remove medical records or required reporting. Tell us about privacy concerns before testing so we can explain billing and communication options. LabCorp bills its tests separately.
Can you treat STDs on-site?
A Monarch physician can prescribe or provide treatment when appropriate for the infection and your situation. Treatment may begin during the visit or after results return. Some infections require additional testing, medication obtained elsewhere, or specialist referral. Your physician explains the next steps and follow-up needed.
How is this different from an at-home STD test kit?
An in-person visit includes a physician evaluation, discussion of your symptoms and exposure history, and selection of appropriate tests. You can ask questions directly and receive a treatment or follow-up plan based on your evaluation and results.
Do you accept insurance for STD testing?
Yes. We accept most major insurance plans including Anthem, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Cigna. We are not in network with Medicaid or Humana. Coverage depends on your plan and the tests ordered. Self-pay is also available. Monarch bills the office visit and applicable collection charges; LabCorp bills laboratory testing separately.
