WHEN URGENT CARE IS NOT THE RIGHT PLACE
We Tell You What We Do Not Do
Most UTI symptoms are well within urgent care scope. Some are not. Honest framing first:
Long-term management of recurrent UTIs → If you have multiple UTIs in a year, you may benefit from urology evaluation. We can treat the current infection and refer you for further workup.
Complicated or upper-tract infection → Symptoms that suggest kidney involvement (high fever, flank pain, persistent vomiting) need ER-level care. We will direct you to the ER if your evaluation suggests this.
UTI in pregnancy with severe symptoms → UTIs in pregnancy need prompt treatment. We can evaluate uncomplicated cases; severe symptoms or any concern about the pregnancy go to OB or ER.
IV antibiotics or hospitalization → Refer to the ER. We do not give IV antibiotics or fluids on site.

WHO WE TREAT
UTI Care Tailored to Each Patient
Women
UTIs are common in women. We evaluate symptoms, run a UA, and treat uncomplicated infections the same visit. If your history suggests recurrent UTIs, we can also discuss prevention and refer to urology when appropriate.
Men
UTIs in men are less common and may signal another underlying issue. We evaluate symptoms, run a UA, and coordinate follow-up with urology if your evaluation suggests a complicated infection or prostate involvement.
Pregnancy
UTIs in pregnancy need prompt evaluation. We can evaluate uncomplicated urinary symptoms and coordinate with your OB. If you have fever, flank pain, vomiting, abdominal pain, bleeding, contractions, decreased fetal movement, or any concern about the pregnancy, go directly to your OB or the ER.

How UTI visit pricing works: A UTI visit includes the office visit fee plus the in-office urinalysis. If a urine culture is needed, the sample is sent to LabCorp and LabCorp bills the lab cost separately. We review your expected total before treatment begins. HSA and FSA accepted.

Preparing for Your Urine Test

Do you test for UTIs on site?
Yes. We run urinalysis (UA) in our office with results in minutes. If a urine culture is needed to identify specific bacteria, we collect the sample and send it to LabCorp; culture results often return in 24 to 72 hours, but timing can vary. LabCorp bills the lab cost separately.
Can I start antibiotics the same day?
Often yes. If your evaluation and UA support it, a Monarch physician can prescribe an antibiotic to your pharmacy during your visit. We also keep a limited on-site antibiotic stock for same-visit dispensing when we have what you need. Final treatment depends on your symptoms, history, and any culture results that follow.
How long do urine culture results take?
Cultures sent to LabCorp often return in 24 to 72 hours, but timing can vary. Your results are documented in your chart and available through MyChart. A Monarch physician will adjust treatment if the culture indicates a different antibiotic is needed.
Which antibiotics do you prescribe?
Antibiotic choice depends on your symptoms, allergies, recent antibiotic history, pregnancy status, prior culture results, and whether your infection appears uncomplicated or more serious. A Monarch physician will discuss the most appropriate option for your situation. If a urine culture is sent, treatment may be adjusted when those results return.
Can you test for STIs at the same visit?
Yes. If your symptoms or history suggest STI testing is appropriate, we can collect samples during the same visit. STI lab tests are sent to LabCorp; LabCorp bills the lab cost separately.
Do you accept insurance?

What if I have frequent UTIs?
If you have multiple UTIs in a year, you may benefit from urology evaluation. We can treat the current infection and refer you for further workup. Long-term recurrent UTI management is best handled by a urologist or your primary care doctor, not urgent care.
Do you see children with UTI symptoms?
Yes, we can evaluate children with urinary symptoms when appropriate. Young children, infants, fever, vomiting, back pain, dehydration, or any concern for a more serious infection may need pediatric emergency care. A Monarch physician will help determine the safest next step.
