WHAT WE TREAT
Women's Urgent Care at Monarch
Many women's health concerns do not need to wait for an OB/GYN appointment. We evaluate, treat, or refer — honest about what fits urgent care and what does not.
UTI & Urinary Symptoms
Burning, urgency, frequency, lower abdominal pressure. We run a urinalysis here in the office and a Monarch physician discusses treatment with you. See full UTI care →
Yeast Infections & Vaginitis
Itching, discharge, irritation, or recurrent symptoms. We evaluate and prescribe treatment when appropriate. Bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections both seen.
STI Testing
Confidential testing during a same-day visit. Samples are sent to LabCorp (LabCorp bills the lab cost separately). A Monarch physician reviews results and discusses next steps with you. Learn about STI testing →
Pregnancy Testing
Available during your visit when clinically relevant. Private, supportive, and discussed with a Monarch physician before any next steps.
Mastitis
Same-day evaluation for breast pain, redness, swelling, or fever after breastfeeding. Treatment when appropriate; OB/GYN or specialist referral if needed.
Contraception & Emergency Contraception
Walk-in prescription for hormonal contraception or emergency contraception when appropriate. A Monarch physician discusses your options and sends prescriptions to your pharmacy.
Pelvic Pain & Heavy Bleeding
Same-day evaluation for new or worsening pelvic pain or heavy menstrual bleeding. We assess severity and refer to OB/GYN when ongoing care is needed, or to the ER when symptoms are severe.
Educational only — a Monarch physician will confirm the right evaluation and treatment for your specific situation.
Patients often come to Monarch for same-day women's health care when they have UTI symptoms, a stubborn yeast infection, vaginitis, breast pain after breastfeeding, or a need for confidential STI testing or contraception they cannot wait weeks to access.
WHEN URGENT CARE IS NOT THE RIGHT PLACE
We Tell You What We Do Not Treat
Some women's health concerns belong with an OB/GYN, not urgent care. Honest framing first:
Annual exams & Pap smears → Routine well-woman care belongs with an OB/GYN or your primary care doctor.
Ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, endometriosis → Diagnosis and ongoing management require OB/GYN evaluation, imaging, and follow-up. We can help with acute symptoms, but we do not manage these conditions.
Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) → Always referred to OB/GYN for evaluation and treatment.
Chronic menstrual irregularities & perimenopause/menopause management → Ongoing hormonal management belongs with OB/GYN.
Fertility concerns → Refer to a reproductive specialist or your OB/GYN.
IUD insertion or removal → Not offered. Refer to OB/GYN.
Severe pelvic pain, heavy bleeding, or pregnancy warning symptoms → Go directly to the emergency room for severe pelvic pain, soaking through pads or tampons rapidly, weakness, fainting, chest pain, shortness of breath, fever with flank pain, vomiting that will not stop, contractions, bleeding in pregnancy, or decreased fetal movement.
If you came in for one of these, we want you to know before you make the trip.
FROM DR. CLAY
Why Women's Care Matters Here
Women come to urgent care for things they do not want to wait three weeks to talk about. A UTI that started yesterday. A yeast infection that is not clearing. A scare that needs a pregnancy test today. Sometimes just questions about contraception they cannot wait for.
A Monarch physician will see you the same day. The visit is private. The exam is respectful. We can usually start treatment that visit — or we tell you honestly that what you have needs an OB/GYN, and we help you figure out where to go next.
What we do not do is pretend we are something we are not. We are urgent care. We do not manage fibroids. We do not do annual exams. We do not insert IUDs. When a patient needs that, we say so and point her in the right direction.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Women's Health FAQ
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in any time during open hours: Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 12pm. You can also book online through MyChart if you prefer to hold a time.
Can I get tested for STIs at a same-day visit?
Yes. We collect samples during your visit and send them to LabCorp; LabCorp bills the lab cost separately. Result timing depends on the test — some return in 24 to 72 hours, others can take longer. A Monarch physician reviews results with you and discusses next steps.
Can I get a prescription for birth control or emergency contraception?
Yes. A Monarch physician can prescribe hormonal contraception or emergency contraception when appropriate. We discuss your options and history during the visit and send prescriptions to your pharmacy. We do not insert or remove IUDs — that is handled by an OB/GYN.
Do you do annual exams or Pap smears?
No. Routine well-woman care belongs with an OB/GYN or your primary care doctor. We are urgent care — we evaluate same-day concerns and refer ongoing care to the right specialist.
Can a Monarch physician treat ovarian cysts or fibroids?
No. Diagnosis and ongoing management of ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and similar conditions require OB/GYN evaluation, imaging, and follow-up. We can evaluate acute pain or symptoms and refer you to OB/GYN for further care.
What about pelvic pain or heavy bleeding?
A Monarch physician can evaluate new or worsening pelvic pain or heavy menstrual bleeding the same day. If your evaluation suggests an underlying condition that needs ongoing management, we refer to OB/GYN. For severe symptoms — severe pelvic pain, heavy bleeding with weakness or fainting, fever with flank pain, contractions, bleeding in pregnancy, or decreased fetal movement — go directly to the ER.
Do you accept insurance for women's health visits?
We are in network with Anthem BCBS, United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, and Encore/IU Health Plans. We are NOT in network with Medicaid or Humana. Coverage may apply to medically necessary care, depending on your plan, deductible, and benefits. HSA and FSA accepted. Self-pay rates are listed on the page.
Is the visit private?
Yes. Women's urgent care visits happen in a private exam room with a Monarch physician. Your information is documented and protected according to medical privacy laws and Monarch Medicine policy. If you have privacy concerns about your record, MyChart access, insurance statements, or shared information, please tell us before the visit begins so we can explain what we can and cannot control.
