• Book an appointment for consultation.  This will likely include an office visit with the doctor and labs drawn either here (using LabCorp services) or at your chosen outside lab to evaluate any barrier to weight loss you might be experiencing.  
• Bring your insurance and ID card to your scheduled visit.  We routinely check insurance eligibility at the front desk and our Epic EMR system can offer direction regarding what medications are preferred by your insurance plan.  This process makes working with your insurance plan just a bit easier.  
• We will work with you and your insurance company as much as possible and arrange for prior authorization as needed to make the most of your insurance dollars.  Understanding your policy can help us maximize your healthcare dollars and build the plan you want.  We cannot guarantee that your insurance will cover weight loss services, only that we will do our best to help you navigate towards the outcome you want

Initial Assessment:

We start by taking a thorough look at your medical history and performing a physical exam, along with tailored lab assessments. This in-depth review helps us understand your unique health profile and any factors influencing your weight, ensuring we’re building a plan specifically for you.

First Follow-Up: Lab Review& Personalized Treatment Plan:

Once your lab results are ready, we’ll meet again to review them together. During this visit, we’ll discuss what the results mean for your health and collaborate on a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals.  Your treatment plan might include prescription medicine, lifestyle recommendations, injections or infusions scheduled in the office.

Ongoing Process & Adjustment:

In your third visit, we’ll check in on how your body is responding to the plan. We’ll make any necessary adjustments to keep you on track, with the flexibility to adapt quickly based on your progress. Our goal is to ensure that your treatment is working effectively and that you’re seeing results.

Maintaining Success with Ongoing Support:

When you’re achieving the results you desire, we’ll guide you through the next steps to sustain your progress over the long term. You’ll receive support and recommendations for maintaining your success for the next six months. If you choose to continue with injection or infusion therapies, we’ll schedule follow-ups as needed, keeping you on the path to wellness.

Pay close attention to sections on "Preventive Services" and "Obesity Management." Knowing exactly what your plan covers helps you avoid unexpected costs and ensures you’re using your benefits most effectively.

Most insurers offer an online member portal where you can explore your plan details. Search for terms like "weight loss" or "medical management" to see what treatments, medications, or consultations are covered. This portal can also help you see if any services require prior authorization, saving you time and out-of-pocket expenses down the road.

3.  Contact Member Services

If you have any questions about your coverage, the customer service number on your insurance card is a valuable resource. Ask about specific coverage for weight loss services, medications, and injections. Be sure to clarify any deductibles, copays, or out-of-pocket costs, so you can plan your expenses and avoid surprises.

4.  Maximize Preventative Care Benefits
