Following medical school, she completed her Family Medicine residency at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana, a pivotal experience that laid the groundwork for her future in medicine here in Indiana.
Her career began with a diverse range of experiences, from inpatient and outpatient private practice to urgent care and emergency medicine back in Illinois. Dr. Clay's journey then took her across state lines to a stand-alone ER in St. Louis, Missouri, before returning to Indiana to focus on hospitalist medicine. Each step along the way expanded her understanding of the medical field, but it was the fast-paced environments of the ER and urgent care that truly resonated with her. These settings allowed her to identify problems quickly and provide effective, immediate treatment—an approach that aligns perfectly with her vision of what medicine could be.
When the opportunity arose to open her own practice, Dr. Clay knew that urgent care was where she could make the most impact.
